500 pieces of Advice.......

I recently found this blog, 500 Pieces of Advice for my Baby Daughter, written by Jaime Morrison Curtis to her daughter, giving her 500 pieces of advice about life, love and everything in between.   This blog is endearing and inspiring, if you have a moment, pop over and check it out.

New stationary.....just for kids!

So, I was day dreaming a few weeks back about my childrens futures and a horrible image came to mind.  I imagined my children with better typing skills than writing skills.  I imagined them being unfamiliar with the thoughtfulness of a traditional letter, a love note, a hand written birthday card.  I cringed.  Then, I got creative.  I decided to design a set of open ended cards, specifically designed for children to create their own designs, put their own love and send their own messages to their loved ones.  The cards are inspired by children's coloring books, bits and pieces are already colored to spark creativity, with the rest outlined to add their own touch.  There's even a set of stickers to add to the card and envelopes.

They are still in the developmental stages, the first nature themed set will be available to the public September 1st, with a holiday set available October 1st. As always, the cards and envelopes will be made with 100% recycled materials.

 I'm very excited about these and I'd love to hear your thoughts.  Would you use these for your child?  Could you see your child sending a card to grandma?  His or her teacher? A friend's birthday? 

Printing smarter AND greener!

We are making a big change here at print*pattern*paper with our printing practices.  We have partnered with a fabulous green printing company to produce all our products, down to the stickers, tags and packaging materials using 100% recycled materials and soy ink.  What isn't recycled (our plastic print protectors) is 100% biodegradable.  We've also posted our green practices on our p3 web site.  We believe it's important to be open to our customers about our efforts in being as environmentally responsible as possible.  And as owner of Print*Pattern*Paper, it makes me so happy  to offer you the purest form of art and accessories for your little ones.  I think every child deserves that.

Why did we choose to print green?  For starters, the environmental benefits are significant -  rather than using virgin paper and petroleum-based inks, green printers use only recycled paper and soy- and vegetable-based inks, and offset their carbon emissions. Also, green printing produces the same level of quality as traditional printing, so you don’t have to sacrifice quality. And now green printing costs have become more competitive, so we no longer have to pay a ridiculous price to be environmentally responsible.

A New Look for Print*Pattern*Paper

Finally, we put the finishing touches on our site and launched last night!  New additions to the site are our P3 Responsibility page, where we discuss how P3 incorporates environmental responsibility in our products and our workplace, and a brand new About page, with updated information and some new pics.

Also, I've spoke of this before, on the 15th of June, we will officially launch our new eco prints.  You know P3 is diligent about using the best, eco-friendly products for our customers, so we made a HUGE switch.  Now every paper product is printed on 100% recycled paper, using soy based ink AND packaged in recycled or biodegradable packaging.  You have to feel good about that-  bold, simple designs on the best possible print product- for yourself or your baby!

I was contacted by Tess, the writer of artsyrubbish.com to let me know that one of my prints were included in her collection.  What  a pleasant surprise to stumble upon her!  She has a really nice collection of found products that are made with recycled materials, not to mention her own work available at her own  etsy shop.  Take a look, I think you'll like what you see!

I've been very busy preparing for our new June 1st blog and site launch, and unfortunately, I've been neglecting my post duties.  But, the good news is that we are almost ready, and as soon as we are, you'll be delighted!  In the mean time,  here's a peek of the nursery collection. 

June Giveaway!!

Starting June 1^st, I am hosting a monthly $75 giveaway to my customers.  All you have to do is submit a pic of how you use your recently purchased p3 products.  It could be a room shot, cute nursery pic, a recycled bag full of your groceries, you writing a letter with our stationary, whatever.  At the end of the month, I will pick a winner at random and it just might be you!  Who couldn’t use something free these days!

Addition to my list of projects

I can't stop thinking about these darling birds.  I HAVE to make these to celebrate spring, which means I have to find my sewing machine (which I haven't used in about a year).
